Outgrowth of a grant establishing a distance education program in graduate Radiation Health Physics.

What would you tell a student who was interested in taking your courses?

The distance courses are roughly the same as the on-campus version, which is taught concurrently.

What do you see as the advantages of taking classes online?

They are especially valuable for place-bound professionals seeking an additional degree. They offer a great deal of flexibility.

What do you enjoy about instructing online?

Being able to reach place-bound students to help them toward a degree.

What has been the biggest surprise to you about online learning?

It's relatively straightforward. The on-campus and off-campus students don't seem all that different.

What's one thing about yourself you'd like distance students to know?

I'm not officially retired, but continue to teach one graduate course each year. I became a faculty member at OSU in 1973. I would also like them to know that I am a committed Christian and enjoy helping students.
