What does completing your degree mean to you? How do you feel it will improve your life and career?
Completion of my degree at OSU is the beginning to a new life for me. It is the ultimate attainment of a goal and a dream that spanned over 30 years to complete, but I did it!

With my degree I will now be able to pursue a career that I feel passionate about, one that is forward-thinking in the field of natural resources and our environment to sustain, conserve, and preserve that which is important to all of us: our planet Earth.

Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Extended Campus? What did you like about this method of education?
As a single mom, I needed to work to maintain my family financially. That meant staying in Idaho where my current job was located. OSU Ecampus was a perfect fit for my passion of natural resources and the ability to continue at my current job. This method enabled me to juggle my college education around the needs of my family and job. And the professional instruction, class content and cost were amazing!

Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student?

It is difficult to pinpoint just one instructor or advisor. Marge Victor, of course, was instrumental in making sure I continuously stayed on track with required courses, while at the same time allowing me flexibility to formulate my own choices in classes that I felt I would most benefit from. Many, if not most, of the professors in range, fisheries, forestry and agriculture studies were exceptional at making the virtual classroom a place of open communication, direct student to student and instructor interaction, and one that maintained my interest and participation throughout the entire term.

What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before?
I look forward to working in a career in forestry, wildlife and botany.
