What does completing your degree mean to you? How do you feel it will improve your life and career?
While finishing my degree is important to me career-wise, it is even more important to me personally. I am looking forward to the sense of accomplishment that this degree will award me. It has been a difficult journey that was begun 11 years ago by a very different person. On the day I receive my diploma I will have proven to myself that I was able to accomplish my goal and I will be able to show my son that while some dreams take time to come true, anything is possible if you try.

Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Extended Campus? What did you like about this method of education?
I was attending OSU on-campus before withdrawing to pursue full time employment. I liked the programs and wanted to continue my education and degree program through OSU. When I inquired if I would be able to complete my degree online, the advisors were wonderful and supportive and got me going in a program that met my needs and accepted most of my previous coursework. Attending online was the best educational experience I have ever had. I liked being able to attend when it fit my schedule, and for me it was easier to understand the directions and lectures without the distractions of big lecture halls or trying to take notes at the same pace as a professor was talking. The online help desk and library were always available and extremely useful as well.

Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student?

My first advisor with the online program Katie was extremely patient with me and worked with me to arrange and rearrage credits and schedules to maximize my time at OSU. I appreciated her always quick replies and ideas on how to help me.

What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before?
My Ecampus degree is giving me a sense of confidence that I was lacking. I felt embarrassed that I didn't finish school the first time around. Now, I have even more to be proud of because I know how long and hard I worked to finish and really earn my degree. Additionally, I feel as though my Ecampus degree will help solidify my position in my company by showing my dedication and ability to follow through to the end and in my commitment.
