What does completing your degree mean to you? How do you feel it will improve your life and career? I came to the States in 2007 and decided to go back to school to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. Finishing the program is the biggest accomplishment of my life. It allows me to have a legitimate teaching license in Oregon, a solid identity as a new comer of society and new friends. Most of all, I have earned confidence which changes my life positively.

Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Extended Campus? What did you like about this method of education? To be honest, I didn't know much about the Extended Campus. However, it was a brilliant choice because I could be an active learner who controlled the learning process by managing the pace of the classes. That doesn't mean it is easier than the traditional way. Actually, it required more time and responsibility to be successful. My favorite part was that I could study at home at anytime that I wanted to.

Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student? I can't pick a particular instructor. Most of the instructors were very knowledgeable in their area and implemented many different ways to enhance students' learning, such as group discussions and proper inquiries. Also, they were very prompt in responding to my emails.

What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before? I have earned a valid OR teaching license along with the Master's degree through the Ecampus program. Now, I am working as a substitute teacher for multiple school districts which gives me both emotional and financial independence, which is awesome!
