Todd Yunker – A student who stands the test of timeTodd Yunker

Master of Education
Salem, Ore.

What does completing your degree mean to you? How do you feel it will improve your life and career?
I have been a great believer in adult education and have been taking classes for over 30 years. I am moving on to a second career that would not be possible without this degree, an Ed.M. in adult education. It has already been an influence on my career direction, and I have been working in my new field already.

Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Extended Campus? What did you like about this method of education?
I have been a student and taking classes from OSU for the last four decades (1980s to the present). I had a lot of choices but could only see one institution being the right one for my master's degree. I enjoy this methodology so much that I am becoming a professional in the field.

Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student?
I cannot point to just one individual who "got me through" this program. I have been in the private sector for many years and find that at OSU, as in the private sector, most people have strengths and I tried hard to follow them.

What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before?
I have been in need of a new career. I have been in professional sales for 30-plus years. I have not been able to get work in any other field. This has been a great help in moving into instructional design.
