What is a GAP # and why do I need it?

Answer:

Each student that is admitted to OSU receives a student ID number and a General Access Pin (GAP) number. Your GAP number will be your six-digit birthdate (in mmddyy format). For example, if your birthdate is March 15, 1970, your GAP will be 031570. This number, in conjunction with your student ID number, allows you to access Online Services.

Online Services is an important tool for students at OSU. Here are just a few of the things you can do while logged in to this system:

  • Register for courses
  • Verify that you are registered for a course
  • View your bill
  • Make payments on your student bill
  • View financial aid information, eligibility and status
