As an unemployed father of three, Orman Morton III needed a path forward. He found it as an Oregon State Ecampus student, learning online while living 2,400 miles away in Baltimore. Now his degree in environmental sciences – paired with six years of volunteer experience analyzing the water quality in the Chesapeake Bay – will put his family back on solid ground, and it provides him the opportunity to help the Penobscot Nation secure the Native American tribe’s environmental resources.
