Overview
Graduate Level Initial License Program for Early Childhood / Elementary Education
In partnership with OSU's College of Education, the Ecampus graduate-level early childhood/elementary teacher license program provides a social justice perspective towards education, curriculum, and teaching. Students have the opportunity to earn their master's degree, a teaching license, and an ESOL endorsement in less than a year.
The M.A.T. in Elementary Education license program is offered as a full-time "Site-Based" track. The part-time "Two-Year" option is currently not accepting applications:
1) Site-Based (Full-Time Track)- currently not accepting applications
The full-time or "Site-Based” program is an intensive teaching license program based in culturally and linguistically diverse schools. It can be completed in one academic year, with students taking about 12 credits per term. Students begin this program in late August and complete it at the end of spring term.
Eleven-Month Program
- Teaching license
- ESOL/Bilingual Endorsement and
- Master's degree
Classes in Portland and Salem
Students attend classes or conduct student teaching five days a week throughout the eleven-month program in Portland and Salem schools.
2) Two-Year (Part-Time Track) - Corvallis campus & online - currently not accepting applications
The part-time program, held on the Corvallis, Ore. campus, can be completed in two academic years. Students take between 6-8 credits per term, with course work offered on weekends and some course work taught online. Students do their full-time student teaching in the spring quarter of the second year. Admission to the Two-Year program is offered on odd-numbered years only.
