Program Overview
OSU Extended Campus now offers Discrimination and the Oregon Educator as a preparatory course. This course consists of a packet of reading material consisting of approximately 60 pages with eight practice essay questions. This course is designed to help prepare you for successful completion of the new ORELA Civil Rights and Equity in Education subtest.
What's New as of 2009?
Beginning September 1, 2009, the ORELA Protecting Student and Civil Rights in the Educational Environment Examination is required of all candidates seeking Oregon licensure, including authorizations at the early childhood, elementary, and/or high school levels as a teacher, personnel specialist, administrator, or school nurse. The Discrimination and the Oregon Educator course is no longer accepted by Oregon Licensure and has been replaced by the ORELA Protecting Civil Rights And Equity in the Educational Environment test offered through the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC). You can register and pay online through OSU Marketplace. The cost for this preparatory course is $30.00. We accept Visa and MasterCard, or you can pay by check. The Preparatory packet is usually mailed out in the next day's mail, after payment is received
Refund Policy
The Discrimination and the Oregon Educator Preparatory reading and exam packet must be returned unused & unopened to qualify for a refund.
- Upon receiving the unused & unopened packet, a full $30.00 refund will be given.
- Allow 3 weeks for processing refund payments.
