Interested in a broad education with a world of possibilities?
This unique online B.A./B.S. in Liberal Studies degree allows students to mix and match courses and design their own major organized around a theme that mirrors their interests and educational goals. Coursework is selected from the 14 departments within the College of Liberal Arts. This interdisciplinary approach provides greater breadth and flexibility than is available in other major programs.
As a Liberal Studies major, you will:
- Study a broad, well-rounded curriculum that develops effective communication skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
- Have the opportunity to add one of 12 online minors to complement your degree and hone your skills in a particular field in order to enhance your marketability after graduation.
- Prepare yourself for a variety of Career opportunities and further study at the graduate level. You also have the option for preparation for a career in elementary education with the OSU Liberal Studies degree.
Completing a Liberal Studies Degree through Ecampus
The Liberal Studies major allows students to design their own plan of study where they choose courses from any combination of all 14 departments in the College of Liberal Arts. The combination of choosing your own degree path along with the convenience of online courses makes the Ecampus Liberal Studies degree a flexible learning solution.
All Ecampus Liberal Studies majors are required to develop and submit a thematically-based plan of study consisting of coursework from within the College of Liberal Arts; a statement of justification must be submitted with the plan of study. Discuss the details of how to prepare and submit your degree plan by the end of your first term during your first advising appointment.
