Economists study how people, organizations and societies make choices, and their work is relevant across all industries and sectors, including business, finance, government, healthcare, natural resources and more. Studying economics can be a valuable complement to many academic majors — helping you understand everything from market trends and international relations to pricing strategies or policy analysis.

When you earn an online minor in economics with Oregon State, you’ll learn to think critically about interconnected systems and gain important analytical and problem-solving skills. You’ll gain an understanding of microeconomic and macroeconomic theory, and learn how to use mathematical and statistical models to study how societies manage scarce resources.

Coursework

Through this 27-credit online minor, you’ll be introduced to both macroeconomic and microeconomic theory, become comfortable with quantitative analysis, and learn how to apply economic theory to issues in your field of study.
