Oregon State University OSU Ecampus Online Orientation

About this Orientation

This orientation will guide you through several critical steps to help you prepare for your new role as an OSU student. Afterward, you will be ready to meet with your academic adviser to plan your degree pathway. The orientation will take about 30-45 minutes to complete, and includes written instructions and video tutorials of important processes, printable documents and optional material of interest.

The orientation consists of nine sections:

  1. Planning Your Degree
  2. Paying Your Bill
  3. Accessing Your Online Services
  4. Registering for Classes
  5. Taking Online Courses
  6. Ensuring Your Success
  7. Resources for You
  8. Program and Adviser Introduction
  9. Finishing Steps

Each section contains important information about your attendance at OSU. To ensure that you have a basic understanding of the information and how it all fits together, we recommend that you view the sections in sequence using the "Continue" button at the bottom of each webpage. You are then welcome to revisit sections of the orientation in any order you wish. In the final section "Finishing Steps," you will take a short quiz to inform you if you have working knowledge of the material in this orientation, and to guide you back to those sections where you may need to clarify your understanding. The results of this quiz will be emailed to your academic adviser to notify them that you have completed the orientation.

After you have completed the orientation, you are invited to view the information in "More About OSU," which includes a virtual tour of OSU, information about sports and merchandise, OSU's student newspaper, research magazine and more.
