Registration Policies
Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar has important information about the policies and procedures that govern your academics. Ecampus Student Services is your liaison to the Registrar's Office, so please call or email us if you have questions about these policies and procedures.
OSU General Catalog
The OSU General Catalog and OSU Schedule of Classes are essential resources in planning your degree. The catalog represents your contract with the university and contains the authoritative description of your program's requirements. The online version of the catalog contains everything that the printed version has, and is more up-to-date.
The OSU online catalog is easily accessible from the OSU home page:
- Scroll to the bottom of the page
- Open the Quick Links drop down menu
- Click "Catalogs & Schedules"

The home page of the online catalog offers links to a wealth of OSU information:
-
In the left column is the catalog's table of contents, offering links to general OSU information and to descriptions of OSU degrees and courses.
-
The right column links to the entire OSU Schedule of Classes and to general registration information.
-
If you aren't sure how to find something in the catalog, there is a search box near the top of the page. Use the Quick-Jump when searching for particular courses, for example "FW 435."
Academic Regulations
The OSU Academic Regulations cover OSU rules regarding admissions and courses. This includes information about:
- Transfer credits
- Minimum and maximum course loads
- Adding, dropping and withdrawing from classes
- Grades and grading
- Repeating courses
- Academic Standing
- Special exams for credit or waiver of required classes
- Institutional requirements for obtaining a degree
Please take a moment to browse through the Academic Regulations to become familiar with their content. If you have questions about how these regulations work, please contact Ecampus Student Services or your advisor.
Academic Calendar
The OSU Academic Calendar is very important to have on hand every term! As an Ecampus student, you will receive a paper or electronic copy of this at the beginning of each term, included in the "Getting Started" mailing. You will receive this mailing to the address you provide to OSU in Student Online Services, or to your ONID email. (Student Online Services and ONID will be explained later in this orientation.) You can also always find the current and future academic calendars on the Ecampus Academic Calendar webpage.
