The online General Horticulture option curriculum is built on a strong foundation in horticultural science. This option is especially recommended for students already working in the horticultural industry, whose careers will benefit from post-secondary education in the horticultural sciences.
The Horticulture Major Core provides strong foundations in plant biology and chemistry, horticultural principles & practices, pest management, soils, ecology and economics. Applications in plant nutrition, business and marketing add to that foundation. As a student, you will be well-informed about the latest technology and trends in the field. The General Horticulture option provides broad electives that will allow you to build your curriculum to meet your individual goals.
From Your Advisor….
Being a distance student is hard work and requires a lot of motivation and persistence on your part. It is my job to assist you. My name is Autumn Granger and I serve as the academic advisor for all students pursuing the online general horticulture major/minor. I look forward to working with you as you earn your degree. Not only can I help you plan your academic schedule, I can also help connect you to campus resources, help you clarify your educational and career goals, help you learn the ins and outs of the OSU system, among many other things. Once you have completed orientation, please contact me for advising information.
