Your ONID Account
ONID Account Login and Features
Every OSU student is given an OSU Network Identification (ONID) account. The following video and static tutorials will walk you through setting up your ONID account, and will explain the various features of this account. Adobe Flash is required to watch the video.
Once you have received notification from Admissions that you have been admitted to the university, you need to set up your ONID account. It is important to remember that this is the only e-mail account that faculty will have access to send you information and verify that it is really you on the other end. Please treat this account as your OSU business account and check it often.
The ONID account login and password provides you access to Blackboard, OSU's course management software.
To set up your ONID account visit onid.oregonstate.edu.

-
Disk Quota. The second link on the left navigation is "Disk Quota," which displays your storage space usage. ONID provides you with 1 gigabyte of online storage space, which you can access from any computer with an internet connection.

-
Mail Quota. The Mail Quota page displays your webmail usage. You will not receive mail if you are over your usage quota.

-
Mail Management. Mail Management is used to maintain your ONID webmail account. Here you can access Mail Forwarding, Spam Assassin and Mail Filters.
Note: Since your ONID email is your official OSU email where you will be receiving emails from your instructors, the Registrar, Student Accounts, etc., you must check it often or make sure it is forwarded correctly to your active email account. If you choose to forward your ONID email, we recommend sending yourself a test email to ensure it is working properly. A small error can cause important emails to be misrouted or returned to the sender.

-
Mail Forwarding. To set mail forwarding simply type in the email account you wish to have your mail forwarded to. If you want to have a copy kept on your ONID webmail, click the check box. Once you're done filling out Mail Forwarding, click on the "set Mail Forwarding" button. After you click the button you should receive a confirmation page. Remember to send yourself a test email to make sure it is working properly.

-
Mail Forwarding. To view where your mail is being forwarded, click on the "My Home" link up in the top left corner. Then you'll be able to see your mail forwarding at the bottom of the page in the "MyONID Info" section.

-
Print Usage. The Print Usage page details every print job you do on campus. On this page it will tell you how much you have printed and the balance on your printing account. If you never print on campus, this service will not apply to you.

-
Edit Quick Links. "Edit Quick Links" allows you to add or change the quick links on your ONID account. Simply type in a web address and a nickname for it, and hit the "Add Link" button. You will receive a confirmation after successfully adding or editing a link.
-
View Quick Links. To view your new quick link, click on the "My Home" link in the top left corner of the page. Then you should see your newly added quick link in your "Quick Links" section.

-
Web Database. The next section is for more advanced ONID users who wish to use their web database for webpages. If you don't plan to use this, please skip down to step 14. In order to use this option you need to create your database. First click the "Create Database" button.

-
Web Database. You will then be given information about your Hostname (which is the address to connect to your database), Database Name (the name of your database), Username (username to access database) and password. You can change your password by clicking on the change password button that gives you a new generated password. At the bottom of this page you will be given simple php code to access your database for your website.

-
Change Password. The final page, "Change Password," allows you to change your ONID password. Please note that your password must meet some requirements, detailed below. You should change your password on a regular basis, and also any time you think it may have been compromised.

Using ONID Webmail
