Other OSU Tutoring Options

Math Learning Center

Students close to Oregon State University's main campus can take advantage of the Math Learning Center.

The services offered by the Math Learning Center are:

• free drop-in tutoring (provided by GTA's, faculty volunteers, and a few hired undergraduate tutors)
• resources (textbooks, solution manuals, a few graphing calculators, etc.) to check out for use in the MLC
• make-up testing (faculty or TA's can leave make-up tests in a file behind the MLC desk; clerks will administer and refile the completed test to be picked up at the instructor's convenience)
• testing service for independent study Statistics courses (by special arrangement with the department of Statistics)
• a mathematics education resource room (for use by the Excel program and mathematics education classes)
• a computer classroom (for use by mathematics classes)

Writing Center

OSU's Center for Writing and Learning (CWL) offers writing support for OSU students, staff, and the citizens of Oregon.

Writing Q is an online service designed to answer questions concerning grammar, sentence mechanics, spelling, punctuation, and documentation. In most cases, your request will be answered the same day. To get more information, visit the Writing Center website. You can address your writing questions to writingq@lists.orst.edu.

The Valley Library Collaborative Learning Center (CLC)

Located in the Information Commons, the CLC provides a variety of services to help students. The Career Center, Chemistry, Library, Math, Physics and the Writing Center provide assistance during scheduled hours.

CLC Services are not available during the first week of the term so that the participating departments can hire and train new tutors.

Sunday 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Career Services
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm;
Open until 7:00 pm every Wednesday! (Excluding Summer Session)
We are closed during the noon hour in the summertime.

Biology
Biology TA's are available in the CLC during their weekly office hours. There is a schedule posted in the Biology classroom in the CLC.

Zoology (Z331, Human Anatomy and Physiology)
Study Tables and drop-in tutoring for Z331, Z332 and Z333, Human Anatomy and Physiology are available during scheduled times Monday-Friday in the CLC.
