Student Email Account

Students taking courses from a distance usually find that the most effective way to communicate with their instructors and with Extended Campus staff is through e-mail. OSU provides all students with an ONID (OSU Network Identification) e-mail account, which you will need to activate. You can set this account to forward to a personal account if you prefer. Activating ONID will be necessary for utilizing the Blackboard portal system and receiving important notices from OSU.

Additionally, many community colleges and public libraries offer access to a modem and, in some cases, an e-mail account. There may also be other Internet Service Providers in your area that provide commercial Web access on an hourly or monthly basis.

Lifetime Email Account

This service allows alums to stay in touch even if they move or change their Internet Service Provider. Those graduating since 1992 may follow the Student Online Services link from the OSU home page to establish or update their accounts. Earlier graduates should visit Lifetime E-Mail Information Request, following the instructions below.
