Rhododendron

The Master Gardener Online course, offered through OSU Extended Campus and the OSU Extension Service, educates Oregonians about the art and science of growing and caring for plants. The Master Gardener program facilitates the training of a highly educated group of volunteers who extend sustainable gardening information to their communities through education and outreach programs.

In addition to readings and lectures, students participate in an online classroom to engage in discussions, quizzes, an exam and self- and peer-review of completed assignments.

Participants taking the online Master Gardener basic training can choose from two options:

  • Option 1: Online course only (participants receive a Certificate of Home Horticulture)
  • Option 2: Online course and volunteering (participants earn a Master Gardener badge)
