Oregon State University is expanding its catalog of online business programs by offering a new Master of Science in Business (MSB) in Supply Chain Analytics to students worldwide.

The Oregon State MSB focuses on two areas – supply chain and logistics management and business analytics – in which organizations need trained and experienced leaders. Anchored by highly qualified faculty, the program will give workers in the service and manufacturing sectors and government agencies added skills to manage internal operations and global supply chains.

“Businesses are increasingly interested in better using available information in operations and strategic decision-making. Students in this program will master the use of data management and data analytics to explore the characteristics of supply chains and identify value-enhancing efficiencies,” said John Becker-Blease, the associate dean of graduate student development for OSU’s College of Business.

Acquire in-demand skills to fill in-demand jobs

The program aims to meet a rising need for qualified professionals in two of the business world’s fastest-growing industries. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, positions for operations research analysts are expected to increase at a “much faster than average rate” of 30 percent nationwide through 2024.

Program graduates will enter the workforce with the ability to:

  • analyze the impact of an enterprise on its various stakeholders
  • collect data to inform a discipline-based evaluation of a complex business challenge
  • apply critical thinking skills to a situation in the presence of uncertainty
  • persuasively and comprehensively communicate their evaluation of real-world challenges.

MSB backed by faculty expertise and AACSB accreditation

The MSB coursework will be delivered online by the same faculty who teach Oregon State’s MBA curriculum. The college is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which has strict guidelines regarding the academic and professional qualifications of instructional faculty.

This is the seventh degree program or certificate offered online or in a hybrid format by the College of Business. In partnership with nationally ranked Oregon State Ecampus, the university also offers an MBA with four specialized tracks at a distance, four graduate certificates and a bachelor’s in business administration.
