Oregon State Ecampus Testing Coordinator Jeff Bulkley\u2019s career path has been quite an exciting journey, ultimately landing him in higher education. Prior to OSU Ecampus, Jeff was deployed for nine months in Kuwait with the U.S. Army Reserves, where he served as a sergeant in the Army Signal Corps, which \u201csupplies information systems and worldwide networks for the Army, the Department of Defense and allied nations in coalition operations.\u201d His role involved working on the camp\u2019s network service desk assisting units with gaining access to the various Army systems. Before being deployed, Jeff worked as a property manager in California and danced professionally with small modern dance companies on the West Coast and in the Midwest. After retiring from performing upon his return from deployment, Jeff danced in one last show in Eugene, Oregon, with Harmonic Laboratory, a multimedia performing arts group headed by University of Oregon dance faculty and other artists. Jeff earned a B.A. in Theater from Southern Illinois University and an M.F.A in Dance from California State University.<\/em><\/p>\n By Heather Doherty<\/a><\/em> \u00a0 \u201cSt. Louis, Missouri\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cSeptember 5, 2013\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cA chance to get back into the education field. I enjoy working with students and faculty.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n \u201cI facilitate all aspects of the proctoring process: gathering information from the faculty, helping students find and submit approved proctors, and communicating all exam details with the proctors. There is a lot of problem solving and last-minute emergency help that is often required.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe workplace. I enjoy coming to OSU and working with all of the great staff and faculty members.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cIt is very much a real-time job. If I am away from my desk and miss a call, that might mean a student that had to take off work cannot take their test. They might have to take off work again, find another babysitter or any number of other issues our online students juggle in their daily lives. So generally when there is a problem, it is something that needs to fixed right away.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cTimely communication is what makes the whole thing work.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI am a retired professional dancer.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cTV and movies \u2013 sci-fi and horror are my favorites.
