They resist the status quo. Not content to push themselves higher, they want to bring others along as well.<\/p>\n

Jessica Ventura knows firsthand what it\u2019s like to be a minority student, to be tagged as unlikely to succeed.<\/p>\n

Not only has she defied that label, she has made it her career to ensure all children in Oregon have an equal opportunity for success.<\/p>\n

Earning a Master of Public Policy in the College of Liberal Arts developed her abilities to collect, analyze and interpret information, then act on it.<\/p>\n

As legislative director for the State Board of Education, Ventura’s daily work makes a positive impact on more than half a million children statewide through the creation of public policies that serve them.<\/p>\n
