ANTH 211 – +Indigenous Peoples of North America (3)
Introduces Indigenous people's histories and social contexts within North America, with a concentration of analysis on West Coast cultures. Examines misconceptions of Indigenous peoples and building corrective images of Indigenous history, culture, rights, and contexts in society. Addresses traditional and contemporary Tribal society including cultural history, ecological adaptations, population, family and gender roles, religious ideology, political and economic systems, stereotypes, history, settler colonialism, traditional ecological knowledge, and Indigenous people's contexts within the present era. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
