WLC 220 – +Francophone Cultures in Film: Colonial Wars and Independence Movements in Francophone Films (3)

Explores the diverse cultures within the Francophone world through the lens of cinema. Includes engaging films that depict the socio-historical, political, economic, and cultural contexts of French-speaking regions, focusing particularly on the themes of colonialism, decolonization, and post-colonialism. Examines various regions, including North and Sub-Saharan Africa, and Vietnam, providing a comprehensive understanding of the impact of colonial and independence movements. Taught in English. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
