Quality Matters at Ecampus
We can help make sure your course meets the highest quality standards in online course design.
Online Microcredential Proposals
Oregon State Ecampus is now piloting microcredentials, which offer students high-quality learning experiences online and an opportunity to gain a specific set of skills. By completing a microcredential, students earn a digital badge that signifies to employers that they have discipline-specific knowledge in a given area. Learn more about Ecampus microcredentials.
Criteria
As this is a pilot, Ecampus is only accepting a limited number of microcredential proposals. To be considered, new microcredentials must meet the following criteria:
- Contain at least three (3) courses that are already developed for online delivery
- Be comprised of at least eight (8) credits total
- Be accepted by Ecampus and approved by the faculty microcredential review committee
The following are preferred criteria:
- Should have minimal prerequisite courses so as to be accessible to nondegree-seeking students
- Should be stackable to an existing Ecampus degree program
- Should be related to the following disciplines: foreign languages, computer science/engineering, health care/health sciences, business, and environmental sciences. Faculty are welcome to propose microcredentials in any discipline, but preference will be given to proposals that are aligned with those areas.
Proposals are considered, reviewed and approved on a rolling basis.
