Tuition and Financial Aid
Tuition and fees
Oregon State Ecampus tuition and fees are charged per credit hour. Ecampus students are never charged at nonresident rates, meaning your tuition is the same if you live in the state of Oregon or anywhere else in the world.
Ecampus courses are fully supported by tuition and fees revenue. Tuition and fees for Ecampus courses are set at levels necessary to cover the direct costs of providing the courses.
On-campus students: Ecampus tuition and fees are charged in addition to your on-campus tuition and fees, and it is based on the fixed, per-credit rate stated above. Ecampus courses are not included in the on-campus tuition plateau, and all Ecampus courses are full price regardless of the number of other credits that students take during the term.
Oregon State honors many of the VA education benefits available to active duty military service members, veterans, spouses and dependents. To maximize your benefits, we recommend that you contact OSU's veteran certifying officials at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Federal and state financial aid
Degree-seeking distance students admitted to Oregon State may be eligible for federal and state financial aid through OSU if enrolled for 6 or more credits per term as an undergraduate. Graduate degree and certificate students need 5 or more credits per term to qualify. (Please note: The Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics and the Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics are not yet approved for financial aid eligibility by the U.S. Department of Education.)
Learn more about types of aid and check your eligibility for federal and state financial aid on the Federal Student Aid website.
If you wish to seek financial aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application and list Oregon State University as your school choice. You may complete the FAFSA online. Please direct your questions to OSU's Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at 541-737-2241.
Grants and scholarships
A need-based Ecampus grant is available to students who are admitted and enrolled in a program of study that is delivered online by Ecampus. (A program of study is defined as an undergraduate or graduate degree program or minor, undergraduate or graduate certificate program delivered by Ecampus.)
The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will award these grants to eligible recipients at the time of packaging based on financial need level. Funds are limited and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The Ecampus need-based grants may be awarded up to $1,000 per term and cannot be used for expenses other than Ecampus tuition and fees.
Information about OSU scholarship opportunities are posted online. Check with your academic advisor for scholarships that might be available through your department. You can search for additional information and opportunities on the Federal Student Aid website.
When is the deadline to submit your FAFSA? When should you start searching for scholarships for the upcoming school year? When will you receive financial aid award letters? These are very important questions, and OSU's Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships can help you find the answers.
