Clayton Sampson – Eager and able to find a career he can bank on

Clayton SampsonB.S. in Natural Resources
Denver, Colo.

What does earning your OSU degree mean to you?
Earning my degree means showing me, my children and my family that anything is possible with perseverance and effort. I completed my A.S. degree 10 years ago and am just now finishing my B.S. I want my children to see that it is never too late to do what you enjoy or finish what you started.

Why did you choose to complete your degree online through OSU Ecampus? What did you enjoy about this method of education?
I am a full-time employee and father of two small children. I needed an option that would allow me to fulfill these responsibilities while completing my degree. OSU was the only school that offered me this flexibility in a field I enjoy. I was very excited to find a natural resources based program online. I like online education because I can work around my busy schedule.

Did you have an instructor or advisor who was influential in helping you succeed as a distance student?
I have had few instructors more than once and my advisor changed during my tenure. But I would like to thank Banks Blair, my second advisor, for his help making sure that my degree would be complete and working with me to develop a successful plan.

What will your Ecampus degree allow you to do that you were unable to do before?
My degree will allow to move into a different career. I have worked in banking for 12 years and feel that it is time to move into a field that I am passionate and excited about. It will also allow me to educate people about the awesome world we live in and teach them how to treat it well.
