Oregon State Ecampus – 2016 Graduation Reception

Distance students travel far and wide to attend annual festivity

Some events are big enough to attract people from all over the world. Oregon State University's 2016 commencement ceremony and the Ecampus graduation reception did just that.

On the morning of Saturday, June 11, Ecampus will host a reception to honor the 692 distance students who are earning their degree online from Oregon State. Graduates and their families and friends travel from all over the world – from as far away as Mexico, Maine, American Samoa and Hawaii – will take part in the Ecampus celebration.

Many of the new alumni were making their first visit to the Corvallis campus, and the reception gave them the opportunity to chat and take photos with their classmates, instructors and advisors.

All told, the Ecampus class of 2016 featured students from 46 states and eight countries.
