Cost per credit
$350 Cost per credit is calculated using tuition per credit for the current academic year. It does not include associated fees, course materials, textbook expenses, and other expenses related to courses. Courses numbered 5XX and higher are graduate level tuition.

Oregon State University’s College of Science has developed an online course, CH 584 Instruments and Online Interactions in the Sciences, to meet the needs of current and aspiring STEM teachers. The course is delivered through OSU Ecampus, a national leader in online education. This course provides hands-on experience for a variety of lab experiment methods that will augment the student learning experience in your classroom.

The course activities are linked to state and national standards appropriate for your educational setting (e.g. for K-12 teachers Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards and the National Educational Technology Standards) and for easy integration into lesson plans.

At the end of the class, you will:

  • Have a good grasp of the availability and implementation of a variety of methods for delivering lab experiments, including:
    • Lab packs
    • Virtual instruments
    • Online interactions
  • Be able to evaluate the efficacy of using lab tools in your classroom curriculum
  • Create lab exercises and assessments with any of the available methods

Course credit – This course combines approximately 90 hours of instruction, online activities and assignments for a total of 3 quarter-term credits.
Instruction – This course is developed and taught by faculty in Oregon State’s College of Science.
