ENG 108 – +introduction to Science Fiction and Fantasy (3)

Focuses on modern and contemporary examples of science fiction and fantasy literature with particular attention paid to the historical evolution as well as the structural constitution of each genre. Hypothesizes that both genres reflect the anxieties and aspirations of the eras that produce and consume them, as well as their characteristic material constraints and affordances. Introduces students to a range of modern classics in both genres, including contemporary science fiction and fantasy written by women and people of color. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
