HORT 217 – +science for Self and Society (3)

Compares scientific research priorities and outcomes with personal and societal issues and interests. Evaluates how diverse sectors of society are positively and negatively impacted by science and technology. Explores how contemporary societies train scientists and fund research, and support engagement with the scientific enterprise. Examines the concept of scientific identity, and its intersection with other social identities. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course.
