ANTH 218 – +Peoples and Cultures of China (3)

Examines Chinese society and culture from an anthropological perspective. Explores dramatic changes in people’s lives as China has transitioned within a few generations from a poor, agrarian society to a socialist revolutionary society and, finally, to the economic and geopolitical power that it is today. Emphasizes China’s changing role in the world as reflected in arts, politics, language, and media. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course.
