WLC 220 – +Francophone Cultures in Film: Colonial Wars and Independence Movements in Francophone Films (3)

Explores the diverse cultures within the Francophone world through the lens of cinema. Includes engaging films that depict the socio-historical, political, economic, and cultural contexts of French-speaking regions, focusing particularly on the themes of colonialism, decolonization, and post-colonialism. Examines various regions, including North and Sub-Saharan Africa, and Vietnam, providing a comprehensive understanding of the impact of colonial and independence movements. Taught in English.
