WLC 233 – +Modern Chinese Culture (3)

Examines the conditions of Chinese society and culture from the early 20th century to the present with emphasis on reform, revolution, political movements, and cultural transformation. Analyzes the domestic and global impacts of China's economic reform and the ongoing democracy movement and the prospect of China’s political reform. Discusses mainland China’s relationships with Hong Kong and Taiwan and the future of China's reunification. Taught in English.
