SOC 242 – Crime and Media (3)
Provides a better understanding of how the media constructs perceptions and stereotypes of crime and the criminal justice system. Emphasizes on contemporary crime topics by examining current news outlets, crime TV shows, movies, and podcasts. Provide the tools necessary to decipher fact from fiction in the media representation of crime and the criminal justice system. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
