HEST 310 – +Transdisciplinary Community-engaged Design Thinking (4)
Engages in transdisciplinary, community-based experiential learning focused on the first stages of the design thinking process: empathizing with stakeholders and defining complex societal challenges. Volunteering for at least 20 hours with a local community organization to build relationships, understand diverse perspectives, and co-investigate pressing local and global issues. Synthesize insights into clearly framed design challenges, laying the groundwork for meaningful, collaborative solution development in future contexts through research, storytelling, and systems thinking. Emphasizes teamwork across arts, business, engineering, humanities, and the sciences. CROSSLISTED as DSI 310/HEST 310. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
