ENSC 350 – Pollution Science (3)
Examines the sources, transport, and fate of environmental contaminants, emphasizing chemical pollutants. Explores physical and microbial pollution, including pathogens, microplastics, and thermal pollution. Analyzes impacts on soil, air, and water systems originating from industrial, agricultural, and natural sources. Introduces environmental toxicology, risk assessment, and relates them to regulatory frameworks. Evaluates strategies for monitoring, waste treatment, remediation, and restoration. Discusses emerging global challenges connected to resource extraction, agricultural production, and natural resource management. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
