MUS 453 – Scoring Visual Media II (3)

Focuses on creating original music for film, television, and video. Explores digital orchestration techniques using music software and sampled orchestral libraries to produce original mockups for visual media. Explores all the instruments in modern symphony orchestras and how they produce sounds. Develops skills in writing music for visual media, working with creative teams, and learning common playing techniques, articulations, and simple orchestration methods. Equips students to create convincing excerpts and musical examples of their creative work. Provides training to create diverse styles of music that aids and supports visual narratives, storytelling, emotions, and dramatic energy in various visual mediums. This course is repeatable for a maximum of 6 credits. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
