SPAN 456 – +Spanish in the United States (3)

Provides a foundation for the study of Spanish in the United States. Focuses on the diverse identities of Latino/a/e/xs and speakers of Spanish as they define what it means to be bilingual locally, regionally, and nationally. Engages with the Spanish language and Spanish-English bilingualism(s) from critical sociolinguistic, historical and political perspectives. Conducted in Spanish-dominant language, although Spanish-English bilingualism(s) (e.g. Spanglish) is welcome. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
