SNR 543 – Beyond Timber: Subsistence, Recreational and Commercial Stewardship and Harvest (3)
Examines wild and forest farmed foods, medicines, floral greens, aromatics, craft materials, landscaping species, and other forest and woodland-derived commercial and non-commercial, non-timber materials and products harvested for subsistence, recreational, and/or commercial use through an interdisciplinary framework. Topics include subsistence, recreational, and commercial harvesters; public and private forest management; products, processing, and markets; labor and supply issues; inventorying and monitoring; agroforestry systems; and anthropogenic historical ecology and resource stewardship. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
