FW 556 – Freshwater Ecology and Conservation (4)
Examines the structure and function of aquatic ecosystems, emphasizing the physical, chemical, biological, and human-influenced processes of lakes and streams. Discusses environmental factors that influence aquatic communities. Highlights differences between lakes and stream ecosystems. Explores interactions between biological communities and physical and chemical processes. Discusses ecosystem contexts for research, management and conservation of lakes and streams and presents applications of recent ecological principles for research and management of aquatic ecosystems.
