PHAR 561 – Pharmaceutical Mass Spectrometry (3)

Introduces biomedical mass spectrometry with a focus on applications to pharmaceuticals. Compares the capabilities of the various types of mass spectrometers and ionization techniques used for pharmaceutical research. Covers how chemical structures of drugs and natural products may be determined using high-resolution and tandem mass spectrometry. Explores applications of biomedical mass spectrometry including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, quantitative analysis, proteomics, and metabolomics.
