ANTH 230 – Time Travelers (3)

Introduction to the historical developments of modern archaeology. The often romanticized public image of archaeology will be contrasted with scientific reality. The nature of archaeological data, modern field methods, analytical techniques, and theoretical background will be reviewed in order to illustrate how the unwritten record of human cultural behavior is deciphered.
