FOR 436 – Wildland Fire Science and Management (4)
Principles and applications of fire as a natural resource management tool; the role of fire in conservation management, restoration, and preservation of ecosystems. Covers basic techniques and current research used to describe fire behavior and spread, fuels and fuel manipulation, and fire effects on the biota. Focus will be on fire as a natural process in ecosystem dynamics. Lec/lab. This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course.
