PHL 440 – Environmental Ethics (3)

Philosophical ideas about our ethical relationships with parts of the non-human world and future generations, with applications to current environmental issues. Includes a study of different conceptions of environmental ethics, philosophical problems in environmental ethics (such as the moral status of animals, plants, species, and ecosystems), the uses of environmental ethics by environmental groups, and selected contemporary global environmental issues such as global warming and loss of biodiversity. (H) (Bacc Core Course) This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
