GEOG 241 – Transforming Environmental Conflicts (3)

Explores the geography of environmental conflicts; an examination of how social processes and institutions influence access and use of natural resources; and the social constructs from which difference, power, and discrimination emerge. Examines the experiences of women, minority, and under-represented communities to contemplate more integrated, equitable and sustainable approaches to resources management, in the United States and beyond. Personal skills in transforming conflicts, as well as the concepts of distributive, procedural, and restorative justice, will be explored. (Bacc Core Course) This course may be subject to Enforced Prerequisites that restrict registration into the course. Check the offerings below for more information.
