Staff Bio

Howard M. Burns is the Senior Director of Corporate and Workforce Education for Oregon State University Ecampus. In this role, he develops and oversees this new unit to grow Ecampus’ corporate education agreements, which give working professionals expanded access to Oregon State’s online degrees and programs. Such collaborations are currently in place with Guild, EdAssist by Bright Horizons, Peet's Coffee, the Federal Government’s Federal Academic Alliance, and Amazon.

Howard’s career has been in high technology where he led learning experience initiatives at Amazon, Microsoft and SAP. At Amazon, he was responsible for establishing the program that optimized customer support at 17 global centers. He spent 12 years at Microsoft as a senior manager, developing its learning partner channel strategy.

Howard earned his B.S. in Computer Science from Bradley University and his M.S. in Computer Science from DePaul University.
