I’ve lived in Oregon for most of my life and attended OSU right out of high school as a first-generation college student. I struggled through my undergraduate degree and have often said that I do the work I do because I wish I would have had a me when I was in college. After completing my bachelor’s degree, I traveled to many different parts of the country and the world. I lived in Brazil and became a fluent Portuguese speaker, and then came back to the United States and worked in Social Work for about five years before deciding to make a career change to Higher Education.  In 2010, I began pursuing my graduate degree online, and I absolutely loved my online learning experience!

I’ve been working to support students in Higher Education since 2011. I’ve served in many roles at different types of institutions throughout my career and focused my work on serving students of various identities underrepresented in higher education. I’ve worked to mitigate barriers to access and success for these students and have had the honor of watching them persist, succeed, and excel in this environment.  Coaching is a newer role for me, and I really appreciate the opportunity for student empowerment that comes from the coaching process.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my family.  I’m passionate about Psychology, and am generally fascinated by humans and our interactions and relationships with each other. I love food, cooking, and sharing food with friends and family. I also really enjoy fitness and am focused on lifelong health.
