As a Student Success Coach, my ultimate goal is to help students complete their degree to accomplish their personal and professional goals. However, the journey to accomplishing those goals is different for every student and my main role is to provide support wherever students are in their pursuit of success.

I started in Ecampus in February of 2016 and I currently serve students in four majors; Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS), Psychology, Public Health, and Sociology.

Like most members in my family (including my sister, parents and grandparents) I also attended and graduated from OSU. I earned bachelor’s degrees in History and Education in 2011 and my masters in 2013 focusing on serving adult learners.

Throughout my college career, I worked in the OSU Athletic Department and Academics for Student-Athletes. I started my professional career as an academic counselor for student-athletes at Texas State University in March of 2014. It was there I developed a passion for helping students who faced challenges outside of the regular student life. Like online students, athletes often have competing time demands that can make it challenging to do well academically.

For the past 3+ years, I have worked to support our online students. I serve as an advocate and help students draw on their own strengths and experiences to promote their success. In my time at Ecampus I have come to have a deep respect and admiration for our students. On top of everything else they do (working, having a family, taking care of parents, etc.) they are determined to earn a degree. It is that motivation and tenacity to succeed that inspires me every day.
