"This degree is totally amazing to me. Without distance courses, it wouldn't have been possible," says Georgia Weinblatt of Port Orford, Oregon.
Georgia, a mother of three, wanted to finish her degree without missing out on her children's "active" years. (She now enjoys visiting her oldest daughter Melissa, a junior in OSU's Animal Science program, on campus.)
While completing her degree, Georgia worked full-time as a park ranger in the summer and as an educational assistant during the school year. Georgia plans to go to graduate school to fulfill her dream of teaching grades 3 to 5 or middle school. Georgia's tips for new distance students: always e-mail the instructor directly, and don't be afraid to call the Ecampus Student Services Center and ask for help with general academic questions.
