Education - Online Minor

Earn a minor in education online through Ecampus

The College of Education and Oregon State Ecampus invite you to discover the flexibility and value of completing an education minor online as part of your undergraduate degree program.

Education skills for your chosen field

An undergraduate minor in education is valuable to anyone interested in the processes involved in providing educational experiences, workplace training or outreach education in their chosen field.

The selection of courses will give you an overview of key topics and career paths in the field of education.

This minor is intended for non-education majors. It is not part of a licensure program and does not result in a teaching or counseling license.

Course work

The education minor online requires a total of 27 credit hours. Core topics include the purpose, structure and function of education in a democracy and learning across the lifespan. All courses are offered online.

Other non-licensure undergraduate courses include an introduction to professional counseling, along with educational psychology, learning and development.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) option

Formerly called vocational education, career and technical education specializes teaching skilled trades, applied sciences, modern technologies, and career preparation to high school students.

After gaining experience in your field, you can potentially work with a school district to sponsor you for CTE licensure. Learn more about this option on our CTE courses webpage.

For detailed information and CTE-I and CTE-II licensure requirements, visit the Oregon Department of Education Career and Technical Education website.
